Canac pulls back from Anacolor

QUEBEC CITY — Canac’s management is disappointed that one of its vendors has reached a contract with Anacolor to paint a new store in Granby, Radio-Canada reports. Canac president Jean Laberge, speaking in French, said the hardware chain was “ill at ease” about doing business with Anacolor, which has received a series of non-compliance notices from Quebec’s environment ministry related to its Cap-Rouge factory. Laberge acknowledged that the contract cannot now be voided, but pledged to draft a directive preventing further transactions with the controversial paint manufacturer.
