TORONTO — Canadian Tire’s Cloud Nine computing centre in Winnipeg is the “backbone” of its digital operations, according to the latest in a series by Report on Business on “intrapreneurial” companies. The network allows customers to redeem Canadian Tire money via mobile app, check in-store product availability, read owners’ manuals, and view demonstration videos. Unlike many retailers, Canadian Tire develops its own apps in-house, according to the report.
