BRAMPTON, Ont. — The Board of Directors of Loblaw Companies Ltd announced that Galen G. Weston, executive chairman, has also been appointed as president, effective immediately. Thomas O’Neill, lead independent director, confirmed the appointment as part of a series of management changes at the company. Other personnel changes include the departure of Shoppers Drug Mart president Domenic Pilla after this year, while outgoing president Vicente Trius has returned to Brazil for family reasons.
