HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears announced last week that it has reached a deal with Amazon to sell its Kenmore line of appliances through the e-retailer’s channel. The faltering department store saw shares soar by 22% in the wake of the announcement, a stroke of good news amid a spate of bad PR over its bankruptcy protection process. The company said that the agreement, which includes all appliances in the Kenmore brand, represents the largest distribution of Kenmore products outside of Sears’ own stores and website.
